Arriving for class

There is a 10 minute time buffer scheduled in between classes.  The buffer is to cut down on congestion in the entrance & watching area between classes and helps alleviate parking issues. Therefore, arriving just 5 minutes before class time starts is the most efficient way to keep congestion down as it allows the prior class to have time to clear out and parking spaces to open up before the next group arrives

If your child is old enough to be dropped off & picked up, it is highly encouraged, since our waiting area is small. However, viewing is always allowed.

When dancers arrive, their street shoes should go under a chair(like a cubby!) and EVERYTHING else comes into the dance space (this means dance bags, as well as sweatshirts, coats, hats, etc.) which will all be placed next to a designated colored dot.

Myself & any assistants will help the dancers with their dance shoes. Parents do NOT need to come into the dance space to do that. Though each child will have their own stuff together at their designated colored "dot", it is helpful to have the child's name on the bottom of their tap shoes, in case of a mix up.

If it is your child's first year, you will be allowed to come right into the actual dance space for the first few weeks, if your child is shy and needs that little extra emotional support. However, if your child doesn't NEED you inside the dance space, I encourage you to view from the two-way mirror side(when "seeing" you is a distraction) or from the entrance waiting area(when "seeing" you is more comforting). It is COMPLETELY NORMAL for it to take some kids a few weeks(or more) to warm up to participating or to get the hang of being part of a structured class. However, consistency (& patience) is the key, so don't get discouraged if things don't go as planned in their first class or two...It is part of the learning process and before you know it, they will be into the routine.

   PARKING NOTE:

Please utilize the street for parking or dropping off/picking up...not the Webb building parking lot.
*If you use the Webb building parking lot, your car may be towed at owner's expense*
     Therefore, please plan ahead...which means...

     1) Do not arrive for class too early. This will allow the prior class to leave and free up spaces for the incoming class.
     2) Consider quickly dropping your child off or sending them in(if old enough) and using the time to run errands instead of
     remaining at the studio.
3)The space on the street next to the orange cones and also the space at the end of the my driveway (to the left of the studio) CAN be utilized.
